Food Pantry
First UMC’s Food Pantry is the second
largest in Manchester. It is open
in the basement of First UMC every Tuesday from 9:00a.m. to 12:00noon.
There are no requirements to receive food except to fill out an
application. It helps to bring
identification with you. The amount
of food given out depends on the size of the family being served.
You may receive food once every thirty days.
You may call the church office (622-8863) with questions, and speak to
food pantry volunteers during pantry hours.
The Parish Nurse is also available on most Tuesdays for food pantry
guests to receive free blood pressure checks and referrals.
The Parish Nurse Program
The Parish Nurse Program is a ministry supported by many
congregations throughout the Greater Manchester area. Trained nurses rotate throughout the sponsor churches to
provide a variety of services. At
First United Methodist Church, parish nurses are available during most food
pantry hours, and at our community dinners on the first Thursday of every month
beginning at 4:30p.m. The church
also hosts many health clinics for foot care, immunization, nutrition, etc.
You may obtain a list of the Parish Nurse Program’s services and
service locations by calling (603) 625-4018.
Community Dinners
On the first Saturday of every month at 5:30p.m., First UMC
serves a delicious meal, including coffee and dessert.
The cost of the dinner is for adults $8.00, and children above 5 yrs. $4.00. A
$1.00 discount is provided to those who purchase tickets in advance (at the
previous dinner). We prefer if you call ahead to make reservations (it helps us
plan for the amount of food), but you are also welcome to show at the door.
For more information or to check the menu, call the church office at
(603) 622-8863.
Scouting
First Church is home to the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and
Girls Scouts. Boy Scout Troop 91
has made First UMC its home for the last 82 years!
Boy Scouts meet Thursday evenings at 7:00p.m. Cub Scouts meet Friday at 6:30p.m. Girls Scouts meet Wednesday at 6:15p.m. Call the church office (603) 622-8863 for more information.

- Rainbow Big Book meets Fridays at 6:00p.m. in Morse Hall (Education
Building)
